RAY BYERLY
FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH & CONDITIONING + KIDS COACH
Ray began his Functional Strength & Conditioning journey in 2016 and started training at BCF in 2017. Throughout his school years, he was committed to exploring a wide range of sports, developing a diverse athletic background in soccer, football, basketball, cross country, wrestling, and weightlifting. It was in high school that Ray truly found his passion for athletics, excelling as a captain of both his track and bowling teams. In college, Ray expanded his athletic repertoire by taking up handball, where he achieved significant success, winning three collegiate national championships over the course of his four-year career.
Ray holds his coaching certifications, as well as certifications in CPR, AED, lifeguarding, and Water Safety Instruction (WSI). He has practical experience working at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center, where he served as a lifeguard, taught swim lessons, and led water aerobics classes.
What Ray appreciates most about BCF is the supportive, uplifting community. He values how the environment fosters encouragement, whether celebrating a major personal record or recovering from an injury. This sense of camaraderie is something Ray cherishes, especially since both of his parents also train at BCF. Despite varying fitness levels, they enjoy working out together in a fun and safe atmosphere.
